KI’s main goal is to develop and enhance the knowledge, skills and abilities of the Somali people through its professional, vocational, educational and training solutions.
The KAAD Institute (KI) is an independent, non-profit organisation dedicated to strengthening the human and institutional capacity of Somalia’s public and private sectors through research, training, and consulting. Founded on the belief that Somalia’s post-war political, social, and economic transformation relies on the quality and availability of skilled human resources, KI prioritises human capital in its mission. By delivering evidence-based research, client-focused training, and tailored capacity development programmes, the Institute empowers Somali individuals and organisations with the knowledge, skills, and capabilities necessary to encourage sustainable development and social change. Complementing this mission is KAAD Consult LLC, a for-profit consultancy firm established in 2012 and officially registered with both federal and federal member state authorities in Somalia. Operating as a sister organisation to the KAAD Institute, KAAD Consult LLC extends the shared commitment to capacity building by providing professional consultancy services that support and reinforce the Institute’s broader development objectives. Together, the two entities create an integrated platform for fostering expertise, innovation, and resilience across Somalia’s growing sectors.
